It appears that the Bahamas have been innundated with supply donations from everywhere! At this time, NEMA is not in need of further supplies. They don't have the logistics in place to keep accepting. The partnership we were working with, Carnival, Tropical Shipping, and NEMA has ended so we also do not have the free shipping from Miami to Nassau.
As we still have the momentum from our fabulous community, we would still like to host a drive but focus on our community here in North Fulton through donations to North Fulton Community Charities. We will have a Stock the Pantry drive to replenish the much needed food for NFCC. We will also be supporting NFCC's 25th Annual Warm Coat Day!
The website will be updated to reflect the needs and requested items. Thank you so much for your continued support and generosity!
Thank you to all that have reached out with questions! The donation drop off information has been updated on the home page. Please try not to drop off early as there is not a lot of storage at the school. We also have a lot of volunteers already so THANK YOU!
Haynes Bridge Beta Club and Student Council are planning on selling limited concessions during the drive so you will be able to get snacks and drinks (water should be available for free) if you want something besides water.
Last, we are looking for some heavy duty boxes to go on the pallets so items can be stacked. If you know of a place that might recycle theirs or somewhere to purchase some inexpensively , please let us know.
We have gotten information out to most of the cluster schools, a few HOA's, NextDoor, some FB sites, and we have flyers. It's hard to hit everyone, so please pass on the info! We still have availability for volunteers as well as lots of room for donations! Looking forward to a great community building event!
